Goat Reservation Information and Sales Policy

PRICING

 

WETHER KIDS:   $100 if picked up as newborn bottle babies.  Buyer must be experienced at bottle-feeding baby goats.

                             $150 if picked up at weaning age - usually between 2 and 3 months  

We often give preference to individuals who reserve bottle wethers versus weaned wethers because sending the wether kids off as bottle babies helps take the pressure off moms who have large litters to feed. 

DOELINGS & BUCKLINGS:  Starting at $450.  Prices vary by pedigree, conformation and show/milk lines.

ADULT DOES and BUCKS:   Prices based on ancestors, individual qualities, and earned awards.

 

All Sales Are Final.  We accept checks or money orders in advance, or cash at the farm.  For the safety and health of our herd, goats cannot be returned or exchanged.  For biosecurity reasons, we do not offer our bucks for stud services or offer farm tours.  

 

HOW TO RESERVE A GOAT

RESERVATION OPTION

Placing a non-refundable 50% deposit via check or money order, or cash if in person,  puts the goat on hold until the agreed upon pick-up date.  If you are the first to reserve a kid from a particular pairing of parents, you will be guaranteed first choice of the litter after our farm retains the one(s) we want to keep.  Same with 2nd, 3rd to reserve and so on, depending on how many kids are available.  If we are unable to provide the desired goat, you will be fully refunded; or your deposit can be transferred to another goat if you prefer.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  Once we have contacted you to let you know that a goat you reserved is available, please respond within 24 hours to confirm that you want it. After that time has elapsed, we will offer the goat to other customers.

NOTIFICATION LIST OPTION

 

You may join our free notification email list, letting us know what you are interested in.  (This does not apply to wethers.)  All people on our notification list will be notified at the same time if/when the goats they are interested in become available.  For this reason, please specify the fastest way of getting in touch with you. 

 

The goat will go to the first person who:

1.)  confirms that they want the goat, 2.) can pick it up in a timely agreed upon manner, and 3.) places a 50% deposit via check or money order, or cash if in person.

 

NOTE that customers who have placed a deposit to reserve a goat get preference over customers on the notification list.

We also reserve the right to place goats in homes we feel are best for them.

  
 

AFTER YOU HAVE MET THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS TO RESERVE A GOAT

The final half of the purchase price is due in cash upon pick-up, along with any requested vet exam/disease testing/etc. costs. Checks and money orders are not accepted at pick-up. 

 

If, after finalizing your reservation for a goat, you chooses to switch your reservation to a different goat, we reserve the right to charge, at our discretion, a re-marketing fee of 10% of the price of the original goat, since we took it off the market and invested in its care and housing under the agreement that it was sold. (This is not applicable to the reservation of unborn kids). 

 

BUYER INFORMATION WE REQUIRE

 
- Best way to contact you. (either phone, email, or text)
- Full name, farm name if applicable, and address for registration transfers 

- Out-of-state buyers: full address is required for vet health certificates
- If you are in a state other than Utah, or if you will have a professional transporter pick up the goat and bring it to your location,    we need your full address.

- Transport plan: (picking up yourself or hiring a transporter)
- Specify which goat you would like to reserve, which parent(s) you would like to reserve a kid from, and/or which qualities you    are looking for.   
- New goat owners: please let us know so we can provide support.  Let us know if you show, milk test, or linear appraise your        goats.

 

PAYMENTS

Payments can be made via check or money order in advance, or cash in person.  All payments are non-refundable unless Harmony Gold Farm cannot fulfill the sale, in which case monies will be fully refunded or transferred to another goat, as the buyer wishes.  Deposits must be used within 18 months unless otherwise agreed.  If the monies are transferred to another goat, they become nonrefundable unless the seller is unable to provide the goat for some reason.  Sales are final.  We do not accept returns or exchanges because of our farm biosecurity policy.  

 

PICK-UP AND TRANSPORTATION

Buyers, or hired transporters (at Buyer's expense), must pick up goat by the agreed upon date at our farm in southwestern Utah.  We are not required to hold a goat after that.  Buyer is solely responsible for travel and any requested expenses, including but not limited to veterinary fees, disease testing, health certificates, crates, etc.  (Our herd is tested free of the goat diseases CAE, CL, Q-Fever and Johne's, and our milking does are tested free of Brucellosis and Tuberculosis.) 

 

Per day care costs apply for holding goats past the original pick-up date. 

 

Unless otherwise agreed upon at the time of sale, if a bred doe is left at our farm until she gives birth, we have the ownership of the kids to retain or sell as we choose.

 

WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH YOUR GOAT

 

REGISTRATION:  All breeding stock is registered with ADGA. 

IDENTIFICATION:  Registered goats' ears are tattooed per registry rules.  We also tattoo unregistered goats, such as wethers, by special request (This makes it easier to recover them if they are stolen or lost).

DIS-BUDDING:  Kids are dis-budded unless polled (naturally hornless).  If you pick up a kid before it is old enough to dis-bud, and you are in our area, we can give you the contact information of a person for disbudding the kid when they are ready.  If you aren't in our area, you can find a dis-budder through your local 4-H, FFA, dairy goat club, or an experienced goat vet.

DNA TESTING:  All bucklings will have DNA submitted as required by ADGA.

VET CHECKS:  If you are out-of-state, check your state's laws for taking goats over state lines.  Buyers may request health exams or testing at Buyer's expense.  Please note that goats under six months old cannot be tested for CAE, CL, Johne's, or other diseases because of the potential inaccuracy of a test conducted at that age.  In this case we can test the parents at the buyer's expense, if desired.

MAINTENANCE:  All goats will receive age-appropriate maintenance such as bathing and hoof trimming.  NOTE we do not vaccinate.

HARMONY GOLD FARM RIGHTS

We reserve the right to retain any kid born on our farm, adjust pricing, and place goats only in homes we believe will provide proper care.  We may cancel a sale at any point with a full refund.  We do not accept returns or exchanges.  Sales are final.
 

GUARANTEES AND LIMITATIONS

HEALTH:  All sold goats leave our farm in a healthy condition to the best of our knowledge, or with full disclosure of any known issues.  They are tested annually for the goat diseases CAE, CL, Q-Fever and Johne's.  Milking does are also tested for Brucellosis and Tuberculosis.  Due to moving stress, etc., we cannot guarantee health after the goats leave our premises.

DEFECTS:  We do not knowingly sell goats wth disqualifying defects.

DNA:  All registered bucklings will be DNA typed per ADGA rules.

FERTILITY:  Fertility of does and bucks is generally expected but not guaranteed.

TEMPERAMENT:  No guarantees are made on personality or behavior.

REFUNDS:  Refunds never exceed purchase price and expire after 18 months.

We want every Harmony Gold goat to succeed in its new home.  Please read this policy carefully before placing a deposit and don't hesitate to ask questions.  We are happy to give you the support you need to raise happy healthy goats.
